But thanks to our inside man, Paul CHAPPY Ward, a Docent at the USS Midway, we have 15 one-day passes to give to lucky winners.

On Monday 11th February we'll hold a live draw on our YouTube channel where we'll draw 15 names, at random, and each of those 15 people will be given, for free, a one day boarding pass for the USS Midway. You can use this pass to join us on May 14th 2023 when the Top Gun Days team and attendees visit the USS Midway.

FRIDAY 12TH MAY 2023 - WELCOME RECEPTION.
On Friday 12th May, from 6 pm to 10 pm, we'll be hosting a welcome reception for all event attendees at Building 177, 2875 Dewey Rd, San Diego, CA 92106.
Located at the beautiful Liberty Station, Building 177, originally the Naval Library has been newly renovated with wood floors and white walls. The space has grand vaulted ceilings, and exposed beams, and offers over 7,000 square feet of versatile space. Designed specifically with events in mind, guests flow naturally from our scenic outdoor patio, an entry foyer, and our main hall.
As well as enjoying complimentary hors d’oeuvres and bar service at the reception, our renowned DJ, who has contributed to many music lyrics and songs that you will all know, will be helping you to get your groove on so bring your best moves and get ready to mingle and dazzle in the company of your fellow Top Gun Fans.
Your DJ is the one and only Chris Olivas who was the drummer in Berlin for 19 years and is a renowned DJ. Hey, if you're going to have a welcome reception for your Top Gun Fan event then why not have the drummer from Berlin as your DJ? If you're going to do it then you might as well do it properly, right?
This reception is a fantastic way to meet other Top Gun Fans who are attending the weekend event in a relaxed but fun-filled environment. We'll also see some familiar faces from our Top Gun Days 2022 event who have already got their tickets for 2023. The welcome reception officially begins at 6 pm but the doors open at 5.30 pm.
Your event pass can be collected during this reception or on Saturday 13th at the start of the VIP Speakers Event. When we said Top Gun Days 2023 will be bigger, better and slicker than 2022 we meant it!
This will be a weekend that you'll never forget.
SATURDAY 13TH MAY 2023 - VIP GUEST SPEAKERS EVENT
On Saturday 13th May 2023 from 9 am - 6 pm we'll be hosting the VIP Guest Speakers event at Building 177, 2875 Dewey Rd, San Diego, CA 92106, United States.
Our lineup of speakers creates a 'Top Gun (1986) meets Top Gun: Maverick' event as we have speakers who were directly involved with making both movies. They will be sharing their never before heard, behind-the-scenes stories of their time working on the making of Top Gun and Top Gun Maverick, as well as some of the new CGI technology and the technical advisors from the military who worked on the set to pull off an amazing film.
We will also have some of our all-time favorite guest speakers returning to go into further detail on how things differ from our original beloved 1986 movie and today’s tricks of the trade. This was a 'fan favorite' during our Top Gun Days 2022 event and is back by popular demand. We’re bringing you what you ask for and adding in some new dimensions. Each speaker will have a microphone and audio equipment will be in use at the event to ensure that all attendees will be able to clearly hear everything that's shared by these awesome VIP Speakers.
As well as getting to hear, first hand, everything they share about their time on Top Gun and Top Gun Maverick, there will also be a Q&A session with each speaker. Before the event concludes there will be an opportunity to get signed photos of each speaker as well as snap a selfie or two with them.
LUNCH IS INCLUDED DURING THIS DAY'S EVENT.

We will conclude the day's event at 6:00 p.m. allowing you to explore the wonders of San Diego on your own terms.
Paul 'CHAPPY' Ward, who is a Docent at the USS Midway, will have a stand at this event where he'll be providing attendees with help and advice about visiting the Midway on Sunday. What Paul doesn't know about the Midway isn't worth knowing. He can help to make sure you get the most from your trip to the Midway. Paul was invaluable when he did this at the 2022 event; attendees benefited from the advice and information he provided them when planning a trip to the Midway.
SUNDAY 14TH MAY 2023 - USS MIDWAY & KANSAS CITY BBQ
On Sunday 14th May 2023 we'll be hanging out at the USS Midway and at Kansas City BBQ

Start your morning off with a relaxing tour of the USS Midway. Our very own Paul "Chappy" Ward will be aboard the ship on Sunday but all tours on Sundays are self-guided. The ship is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. THIS IS A SELF-PACED ON YOUR OWN IF YOU CHOOSE TO VISIT THE USS MIDWAY. During Saturday’s event, Chappy will be on hand to give you insider info on how to best make the most of your time aboard the Midway.
Kansas City BBQ in the afternoon - 600 W Harbor Dr, San Diego, CA 92101
From 3 PM onwards come and hang out with us at the iconic filming location of the 1986 blockbuster film in the afternoon, Kansas City BBQ. Give your best rendition of “Great Balls of Fire” as you enjoy camaraderie with your fellow Top Gun enthusiasts. This is a great way to wrap up the weekend events. We'll be there from 3 pm onwards and we look forward to you joining us there as well. You do not require a ticket to come hang out at Kansas City BBQ.
